Welcome to Molecular Plant Research / Plant Biochemistry

Research

Our working group conducts research on various topics relating to carbon and nitrogen metabolism and transport in plants. The focus is on

  • sugar metabolism and transport mechanisms in trees (phloem transport),
  • the regulation of nectar composition
  • the influence of metal-based compounds on plant metabolism,
  • the identification of honeydew honeys

Teaching

Our working group represents the subject of botany in the combined Bachelor's degree programme with the subject of biology and the fundamentals of science and technology, in the Master of Education and in the food chemistry degree programme.

School

In the Bachelor's and Master's theses of the combinatorial Bachelor's programme and the Master of Education, a wide variety of school-relevant topics are dealt with, e.g. on the topics of "species knowledge", "urban biodiversity" or "school inclusion".
